Kannampully Sree Maha Kameshwara Temple, the renowned abode of Kameshwara Moorthy is situated in Erimayur, Alathur, in Palakakad district of Kerala state. This north-facing temple enshrines the biggest Shiva Linga in Kerala. The lord Shiva here is reverently called. “Kannampully Thampuran”. Beside the Shiva Lingam on the right side is seated Goddess Annapoorneshwari with four arms. The uniqueness of this temple lies in the fact that the sanctum-sanctorum is an eight-petalled, double –door shrine(Ashtadhala, Chakra Shreekovil) which is only one of its kind.
